You've probably seen "WC19 Crash Tested" on our product pages. But what does that actually mean, and why should it matter when choosing a pediatric stroller or wheelchair?

WC19 is a voluntary industry standard developed by the Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology Society of North America (RESNA). It establishes minimum performance requirements for wheelchairs used as seats in motor vehicles. In simpler terms: a WC19-certified chair has been tested to ensure it can safely restrain the occupant during a vehicle collision.

The testing is rigorous. The wheelchair is mounted on a test sled that simulates a 30 mph frontal impact — the same standard used for automotive crash testing. The chair must maintain its structural integrity, the tie-down points must hold, and the occupant must remain safely positioned throughout the impact sequence.

The Leggero Dyno, Reach, and Enzo all carry WC19 certification. The Dyno is notably the only 3-wheel activity stroller on the market with this certification. For families who rely on public transportation or school buses, WC19 isn't a nice-to-have — it's essential. It's the difference between hoping your child is safe and knowing they are.
